I started out late, and came back early. They have pumped so much sand on the beach it's not funny, and they won't be done for at least another month or two. In the meantime I headed south to get away from the dredged sand and found a nice silver button about 20' off of one of the sand bans on a flat section of beach (you can't detect on the dunes). I thought it was a standard tombac, but it's way too heavy. First silver button I have ever found. Anywhere. Anytime. Also found a few tidbits. There were almost no targets out there today.

I also checked out one area they have built up the dune dramatically, I was on the beach and put the machine over the bottom of the newly dumped sand. If anybody wants a zillion pounds of aluminum, now's your chance!
