Haven't posted for a couple of weeks so I thought I would throw up some of my finds. I had found more Indians than those pictured, but had thrown them in with the rest I found so far this year. Shield nickels may be toasted, but I've never found so many in one years as I have this year. Pulling them in different spots too. Pulled a nice little gold cross out of a hole with a 3" iron nail. Almost all this stuff came out of a heavily hunted park and school yard. The KG, one of the shield nickels and the Balboa came out of a new spot in the woods.
I know a number of guys who hunt this school yard and their feeling is it's hunted out for silver and just about everything else. The difference is in attitude while digging. When I get a signal I try and find a reason why I shouldn't dig it instead of why I should. As a result I do dig more trash, but I'm pulling good finds where they think it's hunted out. If you do the same I'm sure you'll find more good finds where you detect. I should mention that we're all hunting the same places and using the same detector, the CTX 3030.
Sorry for so many photos. I haven't posted for a couple of weeks and also wanted to show that I do end up digging lots of trash and some clad too.
