Hi All,

I haven't been getting out much this year have been busy getting my book ready to be published. Anyways this is from my last 2 hour hunt and had a good time. The horse medallion( at least that is what I am calling it) is quite heavy for it's size and I didn't get a chance to put it on the scale. It is always good to get a Standing Liberty with a date although this one is beat up for sure. The 1890 Indian Head is interesting that the bottom curl of the 9 goes back and touches the other part of the 9. I see that they were minted to be pretty close and I think this is just from wear creating this look. Well over all a fun short hunt. Happy Memorial Day to ALL.

Super finds, Bubba, I will politely disagree on the animal depicted on your medallion. I believe it is the face of a Collie dog. Now, what the heck was the medallion used for anyway? Was it an award? Does it have remnants of an attachment loop on the top edge? I sure like it! Happy Hunting, Sub 8-)

I have to agree with Sub.The nose is to narrow for a horse, and, all that hair!
You must still must still have that rush going from finding it,calling a dog a horse!:laughing7:

GOD Bless

Chris

Chupacabra medallion? lol Anyways a very interesting find! Hey, that 1927 Standing is not all that beat up. With a good and proper cleaning it will be N.I.C.E.!

Definitely a collie. It looks like it had a bezel around it. I wonder if it was a reward for herding trials or something.

Ok thanks for all the replies  Here is why I had horse on my mind, he was my hunting partner for the few hours. One time he picked my detector up with his mouth and started to take it away :laughing7:

Some nice finds for this time of the year Bubba (or any time of the year). Any SLQ with a date is good. Is your book CW related? HH, Q.

excellent digs. I'm thinking the horse looks more like a dog
