Made a trip into North Carolina today and stopped at banks along the way looking for halves. Only drove about 80 miles round trip, so was a cheap trip cost in my Prius.

Bank 1: $2.50 in halves from teller and $80 in customer wrapped rolls from the vault.
Skunk

Bank 2: No halves.

Bank 3: $7.50 in halves from teller.
Skunk

Bank 3: Had $1750 in Loomis boxed halves in the vault and $60 in customer wrapped rolls at a teller. Bought $500 box of halves and the $60 of CWRs.
Box: 1 40% 1967, 1 1995 BU, 1 2000 BU
CWRs: Skunk

Bank 5: No halves.

Bank 6: No halves.

Bank 7: $2:50 in halves from teller.
Skunk

Bank 8: Closed, out of business.

Turnaround point, started looping back.

Bank 9: $30 in customer wrapped rolls, no halves in vault. Was a NC branch of my hometown bank so I dumped all other halves. Bought 2 boxes of pennies and 1 box of nickels.
CWR: 1 90% 1964 and 1 2006 Clad Proof

Went back to bank 3 and bought a half box of halves from the vault. Would not sell me more than that, last 2 boxes were reserved for a customer that ordered them.
Skunk

Stopped by bank 4 to dump again then headed home. All in all a success, finally scored my first silver from CRHing halves. I'll upload a pic when I get to a broadband connection. My dialup at home won't upload pics here, I already tried.

Good finds man, keep at it.

Sounds like a rough trip to me.. 2 silvers. I do occasionally do small road trips but they usually don't yield me much. Most banks say they don't have much in halves. That's why I incorporate dime boxes with the trip. It's not much but better than nothing.

Congrats on the finds!!! I don't find much on road trips either, but am hoping to get out more this summer.

Good score Bob, I love the road trips
