Another day, another beach and now I've got three more Gold rings in my pocket!
I hope I'm not getting so jaded as to forget these kinds of things..but I think three gold rings in one day is a new record for me. And the day was only a couple of hours long.
There was a Craigslist advertised lost ring at this beach from the 4th of July out in waist deep water. According to my calculations I figured it would be angle deep water with a nice minus tide. No luck in July but it has always been on my mind.
Yesterday's nice minus tide at about 4:30 PM had me right on the spot ankle deep. I was being very picky about my Dual Field targets and was gratified that I was picking up dime and quarters and no trash. The third good signal was a gold band with a couple of tiny diamonds. I notified the possible owner's wife and hopefully this is her husband's ring.
But before that ... I was doing the sloped wet sand leading down to the loss area and picked up a silver ring (about 8" deep). That put a smile on my face.
Then...eight feet away and higher on the slope..another good target. This is more of "What I Am Looking For" GOLD .. a Gold band from a shallow 6"... weighs in at 5.9 grams! The K marking is worn and real weak but I can see part of 14K and a VA maker's mark.
Then ... heading back from the surf gold band find and on the same wet sand slope picked up my third for the day and smallest gold ring ever from about 5" deep (Gotta Love my Dual Field). Weighs in at 0.38 grams but still counts as a Gold ring.

So..my next target is 4 gold rings in one day!
Gotta Love this hobby!
