I went with dafallis1 to a new spot today for our "break in" fall dig of 2019. The dirt fishing season is just getting started here.

We found a spot in the middle of nowhere and found a 1930's to about 1950's trash dump. We got a lot of stuff, Darryl got a really nice piece I'm sure he'll post soon.

My "gold" is a gold colored chain, but it's very light, so once I find it I'll test it. I think I put it in the washing machine! The copper was a 1955-D Lincoln, also got a toy truck and this 1892 pattern Steiff Sterling fork. It will get repaired soon. As soon as I can move again, I'll get a pic of the truck hopeing someone here will be able to ID it.

It's going to be a good season, but I have cut way back on my detecting season anymore.

Here's the truck. Can someone give me a date range on it?IMG_1039.JPG

Sounds like you had a good day and I really like that truck. Congrats on the finds.

Thanks. It's awfully close to your link.

Since it's now nap time, I have to run to the hardware store tomorrow to get a new bottle of propane for the torch to anneal the fork.

Love the truck Smokey, looks like you had a nice day overall, congrats ans thanks for sharing, take care... "D"

Tomorrow the propane will have to wait. Off to a French and Indian war trading post where the hay which was harvested today! I didn't post a pic of a wheatie and a quarter, silly me. The rest of the stuff is already in the trash can! With the exception of the buckle keeper.

Man, good luck at the trading post site. I wouldn't be able to sleep.

I've been there before. Stuff is few and far between. You can go 10 minutes without a signal - then a pop top to a soda can.

Let us know what you get at the post.
