I found this silver "charm" at the site I found Indian Heads, colonial coppers and the musket ball. I would have thought nothing of it, thinking at first it is a modern charm, but I recall last year at a colonial site 50 miles away I found another almost identical to it, but it was a round pattern, not the burst shape cut out. It has a loop on both sides, so I assume it was attached on 2 sides to something.

Any guesses?

It looks like a cap off a viniagrette

Yes that is it!! I checked again and it is hinged on one side! I wish I could find the one I found last year!

Thanks Gypsy!
