I just inherited a set of silver flatwere for 12 people and I know nothing about these cutlery set except that it belonged to my grandmother Josephine E. Cook, it has engraved "STERLING PAT D" and have an "S".

The scoop soup has engraved something like "copyrig 1836"

Will you help me with some info

shouldn't be too hard to find...give us close ups of the back and front pattern...need detail. The date is a clue but not to when they were actually made. look up things like..."reed and Barton silver flatware patterns" or "Rogers brothers".....
