Nice pin Bongo. You really have to tell us a story; what type of place were you hunting, stuff like that...we are like little kids that way. LOL

It was the kind of morning that MD'ists in Michigan dream of 5 months of the year. Beautiful sun and over 30 degrees. 4 doors down from the place I grew up, stood an empty lot. It was not always barren, in its prime it was a wonderful home to many children. That is about all the story I can muster. It was a suburban lot that the house burned down in the 60's. I got permission by calling the local assessor and tracking down the owner in a different city, calling and asking like a complete pro(lol), politely for permission.

P.S. here is a link to the pin http://www.geocities.com/ssgtedusmc/pins3.html

Cool pin! Never saw one of those before.

If you're up in Flint (can't be anywhere else, judging by your name), on that road that's Exit 88 off 23 (I think the Road begins with R, haven't been up there in a while), there's an old schoolhouse on the north side of the road a couple of miles west.
I don't know if it's in its original location or if someone moved it onto their farm property. I was by there once on a detour and made a ment'l note. Hence the sketchy description, given my ment'l state.

Got out yesterday. Nice weather, a bit breezy. Gave the 1919-S wheat to the owners' kids. 1839 site.
HH this year up in Buicktown!
