Yep thats the one. I need to get a book I guess.

Hello, brinker here ....you found yourself a "peace dollar"....go look it up on ebay ...depending on the condition it's probably worth at least 18.00 or so. A gentleman on here was talking about one that his friend bought in a lot and got a 1928 peace dollar....it's a KEY DATE, it's worth good money!!( 475.00 ) in the red book. Great find in your '21 peace dollar!! HH...Lee.

no, if it is the one i posted the pic of it is a morgan dollar
and I would have to see it to give a round about value

Sorry DD....if I had checked first , I would have seen your reply to the post....they made peace dollars from 1921-1935.....the dollar you have is a Morgan...the last year that they were made was 1921 ....I forgot that, and didn't realize that it could have been either....sorry for the misinformation..I'll do my homework first next time!!.HH..brinker52.

depends on mint and grade

but i would say if you found it, probably worth between $13-$25 ... somewhere in there.
just a guess

Correct it's A "morgan"

named after the Designer ; George T.

Congrats !

that's funny i was just talking to a friend about these particular coins yesterday. he does bottle hunting and some years ago a guy he worked with was digging an out house site in Virginia city, NV and found i believe it was an 1886 Morgan and it was a Miss struck coin with the arrows missing from the eagles clutch. he ended up selling it to a private collector for $30,000 and found out a few years later that another gentleman back east found one in similar condition and it went for $630,000 at auction. :icon_scratch: I can't confirm the truth of this story but if it's true and you find one with the arrows missing hold on to it, it's probably worth big buckaroo's

x-terra, mine is different from the one you have posted. The one i have has a eagle with the wings spread and clutching arrows and the woman on the other side has a head band with liberty on it.

i would almost trade my wife & kids to find a morgan dollar. maybe just the wife for a peace dollar. GREAT FINDS !!!!!!!!

LOL - I would trade them (yours) too for a shot at a Morgan!!! LOL

JK, Great find!!!

1921 is the change over year from the morgan design to peace dollar design dollar coin---and both styles were made dated 1921--- they are quite differant looking from one another thankfully and its easy to tell which is which .

theres not too many us coins of the same value amount that have diffearnt designs in the same year--normally the us mint runs the design to the end of one year and starts the new design the following year ---- the 1921 silver dollar morgan / peace design is one of those few exceptions

by the way the "v" looking letter "u" in trust is normal its not a missprint or anything "special" ---they just used the roman letter style "u" is all --(looks like a "v")
