I bring a silver dime with me on hunts and every once in a while, put it on the ground to make sure the detector is catching it. I went down into a creek bed and it would either read as pull tab or not hit at all. There's no cell towers or power lines I can see that would make it do that. Can you advise me to what you think might be happening? The creek bed is dry and only est 10feet lower than the field. Thank you for your time

If you check the creek bed with no discrimination (all metal) you should find that it is probably highly mineralized. Putting the dime in the creek is just like putting it in trash. You will get masking that will change the VDI or possibly mask the coin completely.

black sand in the dry wash is changing your ground balance.

Thank you for the answers, kinda obvious to you guys I suppose. Yeah when I went to all metal mode it was screamin' for sure. I need to figure out my discrimination and sensitivity level adjustments and if I should notch or not to check for silver in the creek bed. I'm not using my deep seeker, I'm using the bounty hunter.

Or get an Excalibur...lol

Wow that Excalibur 2 looks amazing. Never seen a detector look like that
