Paid .50 at an estate sale. Stamped on the bottom silver. that's all i know. any ideas? very unusual handle

if it"s got silver on it i"d say it probably is. great buy :thumbsup:
 

could be german silver ,which by the way does not contain any silver ,I believe a mix of copper zinc and tin.
 

It might be "Chinese export silver" made around the turn of the century for export to England and the United States.

The word "silver" was on a lot pieces like that. They usually had Chinese "chop marks" of the maker on them, but not all the time.

Do a search on export silver to find more information about this.
