silver coin?

Well, pics would help! ::)

Meanwhile, I'm guessing that it might be the New Zealand 20 cents coin depicting a kiwi. If so, the metal is a copper-nickel alloy, not silver.

thanks didnt know what it ws , not worth posting..

You say it reads as silver? What kind of metal detector? A smashed soda can can read as a silver coin.

The detector only reports on the conductivity of the target, not it's composition. It could just as easily said Gold if it was a little lower in conductivity or a little deeper in the ground.

Well done pbk on a quick analysis of the coin. I can further tell you that this issue is no longer in circulation.
