What I thought I dug up was just a plain silver ring after closer inspection turned out to be a ring made out of a 1964 quarter! Has anyone found one of these before?
Only in Vegas but nope there is a whole lot of people doing this. just google "ring made out of quarter" though I have never dug one or ever heard of anyone digging one!
When I was a teenager in the early 60`s we made coin rings out of walking lib half dollars. they were wider and if not sized to big the date would show on the inside of the ring.
This is a new one on me,Ive seen the silver coin bracelets and things of that nature on here,This quarter coin ring is the first time ive ever heard of this,Thanks for sharing it!!!
That is a super nice find ! I made one using a 1964 Kennedy half dollar - I can appreciate the work that went into that - it took me three hours of
hammering , then the drill and sawing - probably 4 hours total . Argentium.
Nice Find indeed, and glad you noticed the detail, sometimes it's easy to miss.
I had a ring for a while that sat with my other 'scrap' til I noticed
some faint markings on the inside edge, with some talcum powder applied
I could make out 'liberte égalité, fraternité' and what I think is 1916,
it's a two Franc coin, possibly WWI trench art. Good eye and Congrats on the ring !
That would be great! I know it added an extra couple of heartbeats to me when I realized what I had.. Glad I found 1 I love having these discussions on the subject.
Picked up a dime ring last year. I guess the dime ones were called "Liberty" rings due to the word liberty being visible on the outside. Also known as spoon rings.
