Silver button

I found this button earlier this year. Took a better look at it and it is silver. There were French, English and American Soldiers here. Not sure where it is from, any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure its silver and not pewter? I've found quite a few early pewter buttons that looked like yours.

Seems more dense than pewter. You may be right?. I found this little hand made silver one and it has same patina. Dont really clean these things..hard to tell. Ill take your word for it..if you found simular.
