Went out with Cheffer and Scondstar today to a spot we have gone to a lot lately. Dug this Tiffany sterling silver butter knife. Can’t believe how much art work is on this. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1588457449.020501.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1588457468.086705.jpg

Beautiful knife, congrats! :occasion14:

Beautiful.

In case you didn't know, the pattern is called 'Chrysanthemum' (sometimes referred to as 'Indian Chrysanthemum', although it actually has Japanese inspiration). Edward C. Moore, Tiffany's chief designer between 1869-1891, had admired Japanese art and design at the 1867 Exposition Universelle in Paris, and began working with Charles Grosjean to incorporate Japanese animal and plant motifs into Tiffany pieces. Your knife is one of Grosjean's designs, first introduced in 1880.

Joe, I was absolutely stunned when you showed me that knife yesterday. It doesn’t get much better than that! You guys should display that in your house somewhere, it’s that beautiful!

Thanks Red-Coat
We did look it up, and found some of the info, but did not know about Grosjean. We did find one on eBay and was the exact same thing.
Thanks again.

That's a gorgeous piece Joe, incredible spot where you found it in the middle of nowhere. You're having a good year with the precious items!
