silver bar used for cutting cobs

Didn't know what it was at first, but after closer inspection it turned out to be solid, and pure silver.
Found at an old Spanish fort. They would cut off a piece of it and hammer it into a coin.
This one seems to be several smaller pieces hammered together.

Very nice piece Dano. Do you think they tried making a cob and then it didnt look good so they pounded it back into a bar and if that is so then do you see or can you seperate it so it would show the original attempt? Might be cool to see . HH
