One person find this silver bar from Gulf of Finland, near the beach of Estonia. What coat of arms on it? Swedish or Russian?

3 crowns is Sweden. Something just doesn't seem right though about the mark. When they marked silver bars, they had much more information on them and the images or numbers were struck into the bars pretty deep. Silver shouldn't corrode so the mark should still be vivid. Take a look at some of the silver bars at the Mel Fisher Museum in Key West, Florida. Notice the marks. Most ingots would most likely have similar markings so they could be identified easily. Might be a pewter ingot.

Can't help with ID, but did the person have it checked to know for sure that it is silver? processed silver does corrode/oxidize either green or black in salt water, so I don't see that as a problem. The biggest problem with it being silver is the lack of counterstamps, as Bio has stated in his post.

Could be a ingot poured at the source and cast with the coat of arms for transport to that country for more refined processing. Just a guess, but all the ones I have seen have the counterstamps.

Good luck!

Oops. Guess I should have said "does not degrade by corrosion." I guess I have handled too many coins lately in the Netherlands that are so badly corroded that all the image information is gone and they break in half if you try to bend them.

Take it to a pawn shop and let them test it for silver the same way they do gold. That will determine if it is silver or not but please keep us posted either way :)
