I found this object in the woods. Cleaned it off to reveal a silver plating? The back side is flat. Is it a button missing a shank, or maybe a boy Scott badge?

Not silver, not boy scout. Doesn't look like it was ever a pin or button. May have been a decorative piece glued on something. Looks like it's made of pot-metal.

Although small, these are horse decorations & went on the harness, most likely early 19th C.

Crusader is spot on with this ID. Well done! Silver plated pewter. You may wish to paint some elmer's glue on the back and thin it out with a paint brush to keep it from flaking away on the edges.

Early 1800s for sure.
