I was able to get out to detect for awhile this morning, I have a wedding to prepare for (not mine, thank God), so I'll keep this short. I headed out to one of my tried and true parks, where I consistently find wheats on every trip (been hunting here for a few years now). The park gave up a 1942 wheat at 8 inches and a 1956 wheat at 6 inches. The cool thing about the 56, is that when I dug the plug, the wheat fell into the hole from its position against the side of the plug, leaving a perfect wheat cent impression on the side of the plug. I mean, full wheat stalks and everything. I thought it was another wheat cent so I went to grab it and of course it disintegrated like the dirt clod it was. I also dug up a nice heavy, small silver ring, at about 3 inches. Stamped 925 with some other hallmark I cannot make out. It rang up as a solid quarter. I wish I can say I dug a silver coin, but I'll take a ring any day.

Total clad for the day was just about $12. Oh yeah, also dug a live bullet.

Sweet!!!
You got a copper ring and a silver ring, now go find a gold one already!!!
Tomarrow maybe...

Does your girlfriend read T-Net? "(not mine, thank God)"

Good digs Man!

Fiend,

I've got an arsenal of gold rings, mostly found at the beach over the years. Surprisingly, my ratio of junk rings to quality rings is about even. Most people (at least from what I've experienced on the "Today's Finds" section here) tend to find a lot of junk rings. I haven't found a silver ring in about a year so this was a nice surprise.

LowBatts,

She doesn't care, I say it all the time, lol. She does the same. We're cool like dat.

You had a good day. $12 in clad is awesome. And a silver ring is nothing to sneeze at. You have a good spot there. Sorry you couln't make it last time in Hoffman estates, hopefully we can meet up at a group hunt in the future. Then I can milk you for tips and pointers. HH

For sure. We'll all get together soon.
