Howdy all,
Today was a great day for sure. Detectorfreak met me at my place about 1:00 and we headed out to enjoy the awesome weather. Spring is finally here for sure. We started at a new soccer field that neither one of us has hunted before. This had to be the cleanest field I had ever hunted. I was digging every repeatable tone which wasn't much. I did manage a nice silver ring with clear and blue stones. We didn't spend more than an hour at the first field, cuz the targets just weren't there for us. We tried a couple other parks with not much to show for all the driving. Finally we ended up at Fort Steilacoom park and things were gettin better. We ran into another T-Hunter and introduced ourselves. I asked how his luck was and he showed us a pocket full of fired 3 ringers. He had at least a couple dozen, and a couple real nice dropped ones too. He said he had dug close to 100 this week. He had no problem showin us where and said good luck. I think this area used to be the firing range for the fort. Here is the link on the history of the spot.

I managed 2 fired bullets right off the bat. Then spent the next 2 hours lookin and not findin. I could easily tell where the other hunter had been and he did a real good job scrubbin the field. I know he didn't get everything due to the amount of Iron in the ground still. The pic with the barns was taken from the hillside above the field we were hunting. Now if I can just figure out where the cannon range was. Luck in the hunt.
