I hunted an old Swimming hole yesterday, not near as old as I was told it was.
After I had hunted it for almost 3 hours an old boy that lives just to the north of this area told me that this was opened in about 1970 and abandoned not to long after that.
He did take the time to show me the Original swimming hole that they used when he was a kid, there might be hope yet.

The dock is all but gone, it was full of weeds and the Bottom is that White Clay.
I found a few coins in the swimming area but most of the coins came from around the dock, nothing old.
I did find 2 Rings in the Swimming area, 1 Sliver marked .925 and the other looks like like Gold but it is marked Hong Kong, so just a Junker.

One thing is for sure, you do Not wear slip on shoes in the Clay.
I also found out that the MD’ing trash bag I had made up needs a little more work, it holds water very well, about 1.5 Gallons.
It works Great on land, needs a drain hole for water.
This is one of the first bags I had made, it is about 3 years old now.

Don't sell your bag short, it looks very MDing friendly. Maybe put some very small holes if you do put holes in it. Great finds in the jewelry dept. and congrats on the silver! :icon_thumright:

Hey K Zack looks like a fun day, a sliver ring some clad and some info , can't beat that, Congrats and Good Hunting...

Fun hunt! I did research on a swimming hole in a burg near me. An old-timer said when they were kids they'd throw out a bucket/with rope and scrape bottom, bringing up old coins like IH cents and the like. Too bad that today it's filled with concrete from when they tore up main street a few years back.

nice digs. Nothing wrong with pullin' out some clade and silver in the water on a warm day. Hopefully you can do even better with the new info you have on the "real" swimming hole. Good luck!

Thanks everyone
The Silver Ring is a big monster but very thin walled.
I had a good time and I will go back to this spot again with some tie on shoes, I won't spend as much time digging my shoes out of the mud.
It is going to be Hot this weekend, so I think I will hit the other spot.
The bag is big enough to pile all kinds of junk in it, maybe it should not have been a water proof fabric..
Life is Good
Happy Hunting

cool rings! congrats on a good hunt! hope the other swimming hole turns out good for ya!

that is a good start. I'm sure there is lots more there. Obviously the peace sign is a sign of the times!

Thank you Folks
That piece sign fit with the time of that swimming hole, it would have been nice if it were Sliver.
That is ok, i'll take anyway.
They are talking 90 on Sunday, good day to be in the water.
Happy Hunting all
Kevin
