Silver And A Small Gold Today

Got a call from Ray ( C M Perez) this afternoon, he had been out detecting earlier and found a silver ring. I guess he inspired me to go out in search of new horizons and treasures . Took me at least 5 minutes to get to the beach due to heavy traffic. I used "Old Betsy" , my old detector with the Sea Search coil. got a few coins , much to my surprise because this beach is hunted hard, and a very small 10kt. gold child's cross ring with a diamond chip in the center and a silver ring. Sure brightened up my afternoon.

Man that is sweet! Going out tomorrow during the low one. These days the seas are calm and a great time to hunt even if you find coins. Saw plenty of sting rays today. Les I need to know more about different coils and what they do. Ray

That detector has been with me since 1993. Something has happened to it making it super sensitive. Ken said he 's going to run over it, kidding of course. The Sea Search coil has been finding tiny items that are deep. I have 4 thin chains lately.

That has been a great machine for you over the years Les !! My old seasearch Gary Storm Excalibur (#152) was with me till 2008 (1993-2008) found me lotsa small gold too over the years.....I had the pleasure of using your "Old Betsy" that you graciously lent me and saved my vacation down your way when one of my Excals crapped on me several years ago......I even found that 10k chain on that Monday hunt that I tagged along on with you and Ken (I even won the dollar pool that day !!).....Thanks again for that.....and hope to see you again when I'm down in October 15-24 this fall.....Brian
