I found this silver cast acorn today, and it has a lead backing to it. My dad swears up and down that it’s a 14th corps badge, but we’re in Loudoun county VA, and the 14th was in the Deep South, so I don’t think that’s possible. Any ideas?

Congrats stranger!

Welp. Some fellas lived to return home.
Some pieces were transported by other than the original user back to other homes as well.
Stuff just plain traveled.

I don't recognize your piece from a quick runaround.
Stamped thin army ones had an elongated staple on the back loop facing out and feet attached.

Horsemen had a lot around it but how one would become yours doesn't fit.
So I'm lost too.
