Got back yesterday from a week long business trip and was itchin to start diggin. Went to a couple of local parks today from 10 am to 2 pm. Got a total of 54 clad coins worth $4.69. The group was comprised of 11 quarters, 15 dimes, 4 nickels and 24 Memorial cents. At about 1 pm I hit a 1958 Wheatie at about 8 inches so I slowed down to my deep silver pace. After a 7 inch 1965 clad quarter I knew I was getting close. Then it happened! The E-Trac begins to scream at 10 inches. It was jumping back and forth from 12-47 to 12-46 then back again to 12-47. I got down about 9 inches and the probe was howling. Now I could see the silver edge gleaming! A very nice 1942 Washington quarter. Another beauty freed from a life of darkness. My 44th silver for 2012. I love this hobby. Happy hunting to all!
