Another crazy day out hunting today with echoplex and my brother! I got to the spot 30 minutes after those 2 and ended up with the first two silvers of the day, a 1935-s merc and a 1943 war nickel. I got a handful of wheats as well.

Later on, I got a V nickel, my first of the year 1909! After what seemed like an hour of walking around and not finding much, I got a good dime signal 5 inches down. I pop up my plug, but my pinpointer isn’t finding it. After probably 10 minutes of searching in the hole I was ready to give up and call it a day, until my pinpointer finally found it. I pop it up and it’s a horseshoe token with the words “willow calf” on the back. This is the link for it: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces63066.html

Turns out it’s from the 1890s!

Overall another solid day of hunting! That puts me at five straight hunts with a silver.

Ya buddy, way to go on some sweet digs. I love the V nickel especially. We don’t find a lot of those.

Someone is having a good year

You had a great day. Congrats on the Silver.

Good Job, W-Jr. -- and finding your 10 & 11th silver for the year & the 1909 "V" Nickel and hunting with your Brother & a friend, makes for a GREAT DAY. And to keep that SILVER string going -- I say "GOOD LUCK" & Happy Hunting. BILL

sweet hunt, love that token, way cool

Nice hunt, you're having a good year, nice on the 09, congrats on all the saves

Nice finds!
That token seems rare... and it made it a long way from Boston for the 1890s.
Good job on the merc and war nickel. I count the war nickels in my silver count, too. I think it shows diligence to the hobby, digging those tones that aren't necessarily a sure thing. Could be a war nickel, could be a pulltab. Only one way to find out!

Congrats on the nice finds! :occasion14:
