Silent detector - holepuncher has left the building

So very sorry to hear you lost your friend. Bless his family and friends. Covid has hit my area badly, I still have breathing problems six months from getting sick with it. Sadly there are still members here who believe the covid thing is a hoax and they have problems contributing to society's quest to be rid of the disease.

Thanks Gunsil -

Sadly I was afraid this would happen, but hoping it wouldn't. A mask was for sheeple, only wore it when required by work. 4 weeks after feeling a bit punky he's gone. I was in the process of getting permission for us at a old Optimist campground when he got sick. Though I'm a old hippie gal and he was a Georgia redneck, we sure had a great time detecting together.

So sorry to hear this. I’m glad you got to befriend him and go detecting together. RIP holepuncher.

Thank you all - though he wasn't real active here, I needed to acknowledge his enjoyment of the hobby. In Ham radio when a member is lost, they are referred to as a "Silent Key" - thus "Silent Detector"

RIP Buddy

Condolences Molewacker for your loss of your detecting buddy.

It's the memories to be held on ever so tight.
Never the worry or neither was there a fight.
When together the detector was so light.
Many a time in the dawn's early light.

They will be forever missed-but never forgotten

Pepperj - did you pen this? Silly me, I must be cutting onions -

I have so many questions, I think we are dealing with bedrock about 10 feet below the surface. We are using a geo-hunter for a detector, we are receiving a signal for metal under neath ? The surface of the ground. Would the bedrock block the signal to metal underneath the bedrock? Or does this mean the signal for the metal is from metal sitting on top of the bedrock. Pebble

I will also miss him.....he contributed to my fishing pic thread more than a couple times...he loved fishing also !! So sad to see him go....especially from covid !! God bless and keep his soul. Rest in peace my friend !!

A member of t-net has passed....I ask all to be humble and show respect for for his life.....please !?

Sorry to hear about Holepuncher. Condolences to you and his family.
Maybe post some finds or hunts you had with him in his memory?

Molewacker,

I'm truly sorry for your loss of a dear friend. Looking at his profile it is evident that he had a great sense of humor. RIP Holepuncher, you will be truly missed.

One hunt I'll share -

While detecting a local beach this summer, a guy came up to us and said "Arrrg, have you found any Bootie?" My buddy pointed at two bikini babes laying on the blanket, and said -"Yes"

Cracked me up and the guy had the best look on his face - perfect comeback!
