Signs Of No Detection For Long Time ???

Okay, I'm still real new at this so I can only go off of what I think by my logic and ask those more knowledgeable on the subject.

I have found a section of beach in the Daytona area that is producing a lot of clad pennies that is really corroded, would that not be a sign that it hasn't been detected by anyone in a long time? Pennies are real bad, nickels, dimes and quarters are encrusted with shells, barnacles and so on attached to them.

I did pull a small silver ring out of the surf last night in the same area.

Re: Signs Of No Detection For Long Time ???

Depends on your definition of "a long time". Clad pennies only go back to 1982, and I believe the deteriorate rapidly in salt water.
