Hi everyone. This is my first time here..I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. Almost 100 years ago, my grandfather volunteered to help clean up the city of Halifax (Nova Scotia) after it was destroyed by an explosion in 1917. During the clean up effort, he came across this locket, which eventually he passed on to my mother, which I now have. We don't believe it is worth much (not sure what it is made out of) but I am very curious as to the significance of the design on the front.
I have been told it represents the coat of arms of our 4 more western provinces, but have no idea why that would really be on a locket. Seems kind of odd and I am wondering if there is more historical significance to it. Any information would be greatly appreciated./B]
