I figured I would put up some pictures of the indians that I have dug at the sidewalk site.
Yes, I seperated the indians and the 1870 was corroded and pitted worse than I figured but it is still an 1870. I know alot of you have dug some indians and most that are dug in the dirt or fields can be found in numerous states of corrosion or even lack there of. I have dug numerous that came out beautiful and some not so. These indians dug at this site were no exception because I had some that looked awesome after a little cleaning and some of these others were soo corroded and built up with a hard green crust that next to nothing would clean them off! I soaked, I dipped, I shocked with temperature changes and cleaners but little would affect these build-ups. Mind you that some of these were in rubble, brick, sandy conditions beneath a sidewalk for over 115 years and I just had to take the good with the bad. I was greatful that I got to dig 11 indians from the same site with one of them being my first fattie and all of them had readable dates. Thanks for all the good words and it has been a pleasure sharing it with you all! 8)

I will take an Indian any way I can get him. :tongue3: I know what you mean about condition. I don't understand how a few feet can be a different conditioned coin. Congrats on a good site and finds.

It's so cool to have those coins knowing that people have been walking over them for so long and never even knew it :icon_jokercolor: :icon_jokercolor:

I have never dug any IH that weren't green, never saw one that was gold color, very cool. great finds!

Why Johnny Ringo, what a great site you have to dig. Any IH is a great find I think. Congrats on your first fatty. Very nice finds, WTG. Thank you for sharing. GL & HH
