I found a small section of a sidewalk tear out in my neighborhood late last night. I found a 1935 mercury dime and 3 memorial cents from the 1960s before it got dark. I went back tonight with the small coil and hit it again. I found a 1892 Indian, a flat button, small lead ball and a toasted memorial cent. The small coil helped me to get closer to the steel frame they had built on one side for a frame.

a man with a plan and it worked very nicely

Nice finds. Congrats on the saves.

That's awesome! Really nice finds!

They are tearing out the ground around city hall here, and have it locked down tighter than Fort Knox!
Boy what might be found there! I can only drool as I drive by, if I drive by too many more time I may get arrested...but at lest my window will be clean! Lol!

Nice finds wish they would tear up some sidewalkes in my park, man that would be a good hunt...

Great looking finds and good job spotting the opportunity to get them

Keep at it. That flat button indicates that there may be some much older stuff there than what you've already found. Must be an old area, good luck!

I love sidewalk tear outs !! :headbang: What part of the finger lakes are you from ? :dontknow: I'm also in the Finger Lakes. Send me a PM, maybe we can go on a hunt. 8-)

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

The flat button says Rich Gold Colour on the back, My research said 1820s-1850s, imported from Europe. Have you seen these before?

Nice diggings there Fingerlakes !

Nice stuff! Wish they'd tear the rat outta some sidewalks around here!
