Sidewalk haul

Worked a sidewalk tear-out that I have been waiting for. Apparently, others were also waiting as I had plenty of competition. Still pulled out a nice handful of finds.


Not sure what it is. It is thin brass and appears to be some kind of seal. Has the design of a double eagle on it.



Beautiful patriotic token! Looks to have a cracked die error. The coin is not cracked. Unfortunately I poked this one with the digger.



Nice trio of Indians. Two are fatties.



Two piece. Gold gilt. Unfortunately smashed. Can not make out back mark.


Rim fire bullet casing. Larger than a .22. Not sure I've ever seen one that says US on the end.

You got some sweet finds there, congrats!
I wonder if the thin brass could be from a counterfeit coin, maybe filled with lead to feel like gold?

The rimfire brass ,might be a .32 S&W short, an early pistol cartridge.

great finds! I copied the following info from a google search - The headstamp "US" was used by the United States Cartridge Co., of Lowell, Mass., from the 1880's until 1926.
