Hello all. I have been hunting an area with home tear downs lately. Well hunted also. I have yet to find any coins larger than a dime and only a few. Mostly I have found copper cents and wheats with one silver 1961 dime yesterday. There is one thing previous hunters missed, a class ring from 1971. It looks like it was lost when it was new because of the condition. I have contacted the alumni association and waiting on a response. I was using the 250 with the 5x8 DD. It read as a nickel, and was only two to three inches deep under a tree near the driveway and street. It weighs 13.3g with the stone that looks to be onyx.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the kind words. I still haven't heard from the alumni association yet. I will give it a month or two at least, I'm not in a hurry to get rid of it.

Thanks again everyone, Mike

Love those old school rings.

What is a "nickel sound" ? About 53?

WTG!

HH!

Whadifind, unfortunately The Ace only has bells and a graph, no numbers. I use the pinpoint function to get a better idea of what something is. Nickels have a cleaner sound than other targets like pull tabs. Thanks for the encouragement and good luck to all.

Mike

Same with the at pro. Cleaner sound. My guess would be that it would "ring" in right around 60-61.

Aweasome find and thanks for sharing.
