These relics do not turn up much :icon_scratch:
I have only found 2...

One i believe to be 19th century and has both sides :thumbsup:

The other is most definately Colonial period..This one i found next to a cellar and a tree pushed it out of the ground a couple of inches :D
You can see it where it was sticking out..This was a pounded out cellar and it was an overload on my detector..I was surprised :o
These are very personal and important back then and were not lost much..

I found this one Johnny. It was in two pieces and flat as a pancake. Found all 3 pieces on different hunts at the same site. This one might be a shot flask.

Jeff,your spout does not go to that flask....your flask is indeed a powder flask and your "spout",or charger,goes to a leather flask which did hold shot.

Johhny...I just noticed on your "Game" flask...it appears to say "JAMES DIXON",that is cool!!They were flask Man. in the 19th cent,and my example doesnt have that

That pattern is still used today on Repro's.The site that produced mine was mid 19th century,and given yours being marked the way it is may be much older??

In all my years of digging, I only ever found this half of one, my son who has been hunting as long as I have been has none that I can remember, so they are to be cherished when one is found..
From an earlier post years back I was told it is a "hanging game" flask, not sure of the age, but guess early to mid 1800s. :dontknow:

Relic,a great Journal is one by Nicholas Perlot,he was in your area,and a Frenchman,maybe you found his flask!!LOL!! A fantastic Journal!!!

I've only dug one but it was found in 2 halves. Not in the best of shape either, but I'll take it.

My one and only ;D, looks alot like Jeff's.
I believe this flask went to this Liege barrel I dug at the same site.
