Should I have bought this?

I was at the thrift store yesterday and saw this Native American riding a horse statue or sculpture. The Native American was cast separate and is removable from the horse. He was missing a spear in his hand and the chain was detached from one side.
They wanted $25. I didn't see any markings anywhere so I had a tough time trying to do research to see if I could turn a profit.
What material does it appear to be? Brass?
Ended up leaving it there.

Would you have bought it?

I almost bought it just for the cool factor, but cool doesn't pay the bills :)

It almost looks like the headdress could have been separate as well. Sorry, but I can't help on if you should or shouldn't. Whatever I'd think, it would probably be the opposite. :laughing7:

$25?

I don't sell on e-bay, but if I did I might have purchased it. Yes, it certainly looks brass, but how heavy is it?

It does not seem to be of high quality. But for $25 you can't go wrong. There is no downside.

I would have passed for sure. He needs his spear for starters, and it's tough to tell from the pictures, but it looks like his hands and facial features don't have a lot of detail, which leads me to believe this is not a unique sculpture. It should be signed, too. Save that $25 for a grab bag of jewelry or something.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the replies! I had a case of non buyers remorse. Just wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything good on the table. If if was complete I would've bought it but don't think I'd get more than a $100 for it on eBay and shipping would eat into profit since it was probly 5-8 pounds. That $25 will be spent elsewhere! Thanks again!

that is one butt-ugly piece!! I think you should be glad you passed!!

I would have passed too if pieces were missing. Good rule of thumb, never buy anything like that unless it is something you would like to have for your own.
