Should Be An Easy ID but I can't Figure Out This Sterling Piece I Found Yesterday
I went back to the glass shard hole in my yard yesterday and while pulling out pieces of glass an pottery, I saw this little piece in the dirt. It was found in the same hole where I discovered a sterling frame backing from an Edward Smith Daguerreotype.
It's sterling and marked on the back. It looks too small to be a cufflink so I thought it might be a mens collar button, necktie or shirt button. I've been unable to find something like it but I would think it was a fairly common item. The pattern looks to be from the 1800s.
Thanks for looking!
