Spent shotgun slug is my guess, but as to age, not a clue. Found by a small stream today before work. Thoughts?

Someone said on another bullet thread about lead oxide being white... the domed part in the first pic has this white stuff on it. Are modern shotgun slugs made of lead?

It does look like a shotgun slug. Yes, modern slugs are made of lead.
