shot gun shell + what is it. how old

i stop,ed posting stuff of my finds from years ago. but hope you all don't mind me posting things i don't know nothing about or how old? the small round thing has nothing on the back. the pic,s should be nice enough to see what the letters are. thanks for any info love this site

The bottom one sure looks like a token. But with nothing on the other side. I don't know.
I've got a couple of old saloon tokens, that say good for one drink. And then on the other side, letters real similiar to those. The bars had stamped in their initials. HH

If the bottom one is a shell casing, it is a rimfire. Would be very old as the big rimfires came out during the black powder era. Monty

dj, in rereading the post I think that bottom thingy is some kind of token? It looks a lot like it would be the initials of a shortline railroad perhaps. First thing I thought of is tool tag, but it don't have a hole in it? Monty

I just checked railroads and there was a NC&D Railway, New Castle and Darlington. I'll bet that has something to do with it?There was two NC&D Railways, one in England and one in Pennsylvania. Probably the one in Penn.? Monty
