Someone once told me that for every 100 low-tone trash items you dig you get one gold. Looks like you got about 90 more till you get that gold ring! Keep on diggin' those low-tones!

Yep! keep on digging. I don't think that saying is true for everyone though. I have not found any gold in 4 years of off and on hunting. I am also in pull tab heaven right now. Unfortunatly coins on my excal 2 are so close to pull tabs i have been digging alot. I am starting to tell the difference though. I don't have a whole lot of patience but i am still digging. good hunting to you!

Thanks for the kind words guys, I've only been detecting since May of this year and have to say I'm officially addicted. Like most I have dug tons of pulltabs and can slaw and have been fortunate to find about 65.00 in clad plus a little gold and silver. The cool thing is that the first week, I found my own gold wedding band that had been lost for over 17 1/2 years. Wasn't searching for it. Just piddling in the front yard, learning the Compadre. All those years I thought It had been lost at work in another county. I can't imagine how much fun I'd have if I were retired with plenty of spare time. A big thanks also to all the other folks on this board for the generous amount of info/knowledge shared everyday to help Noobs like myself.
