Only had two hours before dark to hunt.
Other than the 1690 W&M coin on the first day I have only had 1 unknown date from the 1800s. But today I hit several deep pre1950s coins, 2 of which were:
Farthing 1891
Penny 1899 - This was exactly a spade depth down, & when I measured my spade it was just a little over 8". How I found that 1690 I will never know, although it had settled in a gravel bed at a good depth. Cortes proving its worth again.
Two years off a silver with 1949 Two Shilling (our silvers finished in 1947). Kinda glad it wasn't silver as it was the last signal I dug in the dark & I scraped it a little. This rarely happens to me but I don't mind doing it on a useless coin.
£4.28 ($8.50) Spendable, ok for 2 hours.
Maybe next time I will get a large silver coin
