Relic Hunting
I only had time to do a short hunt today so I was thinking where I could go that would be productive. I checked the weather and rain was moving in to one site I thought of. So my second choice was a longer drive to a place where I have found wheats, silver and a few civil war relics. After getting there my time was going to be even shorter. I proceded to hunt an area where I have found several wheats and the civil war relics. I did manage some deep signals that were reading penny but I needed a hammer and chisel to break that ground. I gave up and figured I will have to get them next time after some rain. I moved a little further down and started hunting around some large trees. I got another good penny signal about 5" in some much better soil. I could tell it was wheat but put it away to clean later. Then I got another good signal. It was a pistol frame for the grip. I will have to research and see if I can identify it later. Again this location had a lot of broken pottery and coal pieces and nails. I knew there had to have been another house here at one time. My finds for this very short hunt was a 1935 wheat, pistol frame, top of a perfume bottle (I think), a metal piece with a scene on it, top of a razor and the most corroded clad dime I have ever seen.

Great hunt, congrats!!! :icon_pirat:

I could be wrong but that pistol grip frame looks to be from a toy gun, looks like pot metal.

Thanks Guy. I wish you could have made it. Most of the finds were where the big trees are just to the left where we park. I couldn't stay very long but did find the remains of another house over there.
