Relic Hunting
Hello everyone,

A friend of mine suggested that I check out his son's place, which he told me was built in 1843. I had driven by the place numerous times, but never thought it was that old. Anyway, we went up there and got to work. His son had to leave in a half an hour, so I went over the back yard much quicker than normal. I ended up digging some pretty cool relics, though. I found a large serving spoon marked "ELGIN" on the back, a tag with "RETURN TO W. D. TAYLOR. NABB. IND.", another tag marked "OWNERS NAME AND ADDRESS INSIDE" (a burned piece of paper was inside), a pocket watch back, a tag with "16", a couple of flat buttons, a pocket knife, a 1956-D Rosie, and some other brass relics. I may be going up there again later to do a more thorough search. It seems like a really good site with a TON of ground to cover. I tried to find some info on the serving spoon, but came up empty handed. If anyone could lend some info on this one, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

HH!

I see some nice early flat buttons in the mix there :icon_thumleft: Give that spot some more time and look for the deep tones that you're not sure about.. You should turn up a Large cent or two and maybe a halfdime
