It was windy, but temp not too bad in VA. Went to a "go to" place for a little bit and dug some CW bullets. Some sort of name tag that reads "G.C. White , Burke, VA" . No date or other markings, so not exactly sure what it's to. Flat button, 20 gauge shell, pocket knife, and a brass rivet thingy, I thought at 1st scaber tip? Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thank you pong.

I believe that " Brass rivet Thingy" is a Final from a Ammo pouch or percussion cap pouch. You can do a google pic search . there where different shapes some rd point and some more pointy. But it looks real close to the one I found back in september.

BTW; Great Finds............

Park- Thanks!

Corsair-Thanks and good call on brass piece. Seems to be a very close match the percussion cap pouches I've looked at. Also, looks similar to some holster fasteners too. Pretty cool either way :occasion14:

Yep... You found a finial from a cartridge bag. Nice finds!

The tag looks more modern like it would came off a dog's collar. Wished I could say CW.

I went digging after church today too, and all I found was a modern day rifle shell used for deer hunting.

Got me thinking and found this:
1922 - ‎Dogs
Breeder. Junius Yount, Conover, N. C. Whelped April 27, 1914. White, liver and ... D. C. Breeder, G. C. White. Burke, Va. Whelped September 1, 1920.

I'm gonna do a little more diggin. Pretty neat! Thanks!
