We return to the Farm Shop that we got the nice Irish Hammered on, as they had ploughed up & flatted a small 1 acre plot with nothing planted yet.
It was raining the whole time but I'm pleased to see it, as we are trying a new grass field tomorrow & I hope it will help :P

For 2.5 hours (5 man hours) we were happy with the result, specially the small hammered Halfpenny of Elizabeth I 1590-92, only 0.24g, I thought it was James I when I found it but this is much better as I have 1 James I similar but this is my first Lizzy Halfpenny :headbang: The 11" coil does it again ;D Dad did well with the cut hammered shortcross, not in good condition & stumped on an ID with the mint ending EWE :icon_scratch: Still a 2 hammered outing

Part of a 1st AD Roman Bronze Ring fragment with a small piece of Glass or Carnelian showing.
Small Roman Fibula (not pitured well :-[ )
2 Medieval Leather Mounts
Cloth & bag seal
Happy with the 17th C Spur Buckle (I think a new variant for the collection) :)
& bits...

Thanks everyone, it was good to get out, even in the rain. Its been a long week workwise :tongue3:

The halfpenny is stunning. The GMP is pure hell on small silver... Sorry that the ring is broken...its a very nice one, much bigger than the ones we can get here. Must be rich romans in Uk!

Nice finds mate! Good to see some hammered :icon_thumleft:

I've forgotten that feeling :(

Very nice finds!

That is a wee little silver fellow.
