We all k ow goodwill likes to get crazy anymore with their prices. But 500 bucks for a no signature print etching is getting insane. And that's cheap co.pared to so.eof the items. Last week our good will had a santiago Picasso for $20 bucks behind the counter.

Also what's up with shop goodwill way over padding their shipping weights. There's currently 2 old fake leather marble bags that weigh .1 pounds they have the shipping weight at 4 pounds! More then likely it'll be a local buyer anyways so why not just leave the stuff in the store.

Then don't buy it.

Shopgoodwill.com tries to get retail prices for donated crap that they won't return. People pay it, so good for them. I can usually find the same things far cheaper on CL, Ebay, or Amazon. When you buy from Ebay or Amazon you can ALWAYS return it if it doesn't work. If you buy from CL, then you get to see it in person before buying it. I ONLY buy from shopgoodwill.com if the auction ends and the item is less than half of retail. Then its worth the risk.

Sounds like a lazy manager - you should bring your concerns to the manager and see what happens...

There are a TON of places to shop. If you don't like the prices at shopgoodwill.com, then simply shop somewhere else.

I refuse to shop at ANY Goodwill. Can't tell you how many times I've seen USED items marked higher than the original NEW retail price. Goodwill is a scam that is making a few people at the top very rich. I'll stick with the Salvation Army and the City Mission. At least you know that a greater percentage of their sales are actually helping those in need. To me, it's just about ethics, no matter what kind of rare deal I miss out on at Goodwill.

Actually, that is not true. I have been shopping at GW for many years. I can't begin to tell you the number of NEW Colezioni Armani, Tommy Bahama, etc I have found. Not counting several musical instruments I have made quite a bit of money on.

That is definitely not the case here in Upstate NY. So what I'm saying is very true for this area. Goodwill SUCKS around here. I've found many good things, but the prices they ask make it nearly impossible to resell for a profit that makes it worth the time and effort of trying.

90% of my finds are from Goodwill. I just sold 6 Kindel chairs for $600.00 and that was a cheap selling price. But I only paid $69.00 for the entire set. The stores have been good for me, but ShopGoodwill.com sucks period. My local Goodwill announced that they will no longer sell jewelry in their stores! Why. Because it will go on shopgoodwill.com and corporate Goodwill will make a lot more money from the folks willing to pay a lot more money for that stuff. If I could sell my stuff on there, I'd make a lot more money than I do on eBay!
