Did they make these kind of shoes around the turn-of-the-century

Not sure about the turn of the century, but I wore them to elementary school in the 50's.

I remember putting those on in the early 60's to head to school in the winter. Had to pull like heck to get them over your shoes.

Had to wear those rubber boots in the 60s with plastic bags because boots leaked ahhh the old day's with simple ways kinda miss those days happy hunting

Yeah... I'm hearing ya-

I had to walk uphill in the snow to school, without shoes, both ways.

I kept a warm potato in my pocket to keep me alive, and then lunch.

Could the metal ring be from a harness boot? Size looks close.
