Shoe parts?

Found these pieces with the buttons in the picture.there was a really old shoe by them that was really rotted only the sole was left.curious if it looks like they came off of it

Not sure about the turn of the century, but I wore them to elementary school in the 50's.

I remember putting those on in the early 60's to head to school in the winter. Had to pull like heck to get them over your shoes.

Had to wear those rubber boots in the 60s with plastic bags because boots leaked ahhh the old day's with simple ways kinda miss those days happy hunting

Could the metal ring be from a harness boot? Size looks close.
