Just finished 24 straight 10 hour days of work. It felt pretty darned good to come home and take a break. Got out for a couple of short hunts. Continued digging super deep crappy signals at pounded sites. The shoe buckle was 14-16" deep. The patina was terrible si I decided to buff it out and return it to its bright brass beginnings. I still have some work to do but it's coming along. I normally wouldn't do this but seeing this is number 16 or 17 I decided to give it a shot this once.
I also found a couple of KGiis and a nice designed tombac. The find I'm really curious about is the small designed lead object. It has the cross with 4 designed sections kind of like a cob would have. It's made out of lead and looks like it was shot. I hope somebody knows cause this one has me stumped. Thanks guys and I apologize for the great posts that I've missed and haven't replied to. Just been too busy.

Great to see you back and awesome finds Abe! Of course you find another shoe buckle frame. haha The tombac is sweet and any KG you can identify is a good one.... 1750 something? The lead item reminds me of a bale seal or something like that.

Good to see you out. I just recently did a couple of days but nothing worth posting up.

Not a fan of brass beginnings as now it does not even fit in your collection.... not that I want to give you any ideas! :)

Suppose I could bury it in the yard lol. Prob a mistake but it was so damn ugly. Any thoughts on the lead item?

Correction... now it is so damn ugly. :) You will find people out there who think it looks good, but to me it's the equivalent of taking a nice aged silver coin and buffing the hell out of it. I think in time you would learn to regret doing that to any dug relic.

All I have for the lead is to guess bale seal converted to a fishing weight.

Opinions are like A---- everyone has one!!!!! Lol

Nobody does it like Abe! Nice buckle. With an early buckle collection as large as yours I could understand why you could want some variety with a buff out! Great KG and button. You're back Brother!!!!!

Oh by the way Abe, great to see you out.
That was a freat warm up hunt for you!!!

Speaking of which, you can grind down all your old relics and old coins and I won't say a word... promise. ;)

I already did that to a gold token
Remember???

Good finds Abe. Sure beats my lonely little flat button I got this morning.

Awesome shoe buckle ,10 hour days suck. Thanks for the comments on my U.S. Belt plate...good luck[emoji108]

Nothing ugly about a patchy green patina vs shinny.

Might say Soho, a place in London. Although the 'H' I'm not a 100% sure. It looks a little like a bag seal but not quite & why has it been cut down, & how much bigger was it. (& what original shape was it)

Good to see you got out and are starting to wind down a bit from the crazy hours. One could loose the sense of ha,ha doing that too long without a day in out in the dirt.
nice going on the seal and the copper, the button has a cool design to it.

Turn the shiny buckle into a picture frame, shadow box frame.

Can't believe all those hours you're having to work Abe. Surprised you had enough energy to even turn your detector on. But you did a great job recovering some nice artifacts from a pounded site so my hat's off to you. Maybe when things slow down a bit you can sneak another island trip into your schedule, unless the snow starts flying first. Enjoy your downtime man ....

AHAB YOU GOT A NICE BUCKLE THERE AND A NICE GEORGE AND TOMBAC .

Cru that's kind of what I was seeing as well. I thought maybe an F but H makes more sense. Thanks for the comment

The lead piece is rather thick to be a bale seal. It looks more like a lead token. Glad to see you're out digging before the big freeze. Maybe if the ocean freezes you could walk over to that island site.
