North of you....possibly up by Augustine, not 100% sure until I check Google earth:laughing7::icon_scratch: I forget exactly where its at..LOL !!

Looks like something got dug up in the lower left corner !

Love the cop keeping people off the wreck on a public beach!

Looks like it's right there behind Summerhouse Beach and Racquet Club just north of Matanzas Inlet.

Old dock.

:P

Quick question maybe my commonsense ain’t working today but if I’m not mistaken if it’s on a public beach isn’t it open to the public so why would it be a crime to take souvenirs

Soooo.....another case of the power's that be "protecting" a possible cultural resource....maybe...one day. In the mean time let it rot...cause gawd knows that the private sector would "loot it" right?....sighs

Hey all they need is a bull dozer load it onto a truck bed and haul it away. how hard is it? If not, the rest of us can take our pick of the pieces.

Whats wrong with this picture ? ? ?

Looks like no Archaeological dig I ever saw.

When have any of you seen a dig site that consisted of 2 guys 2 buckets and a shovel... no markers or grids... nothing seems to be being done in a "methodical" way.

For one... there appears to be no screening of removed debris etc.

Just seems very odd and unprofessional.

Sheesh I metal detect with more finesse and method.... looks like a kid digging for a treasure chest or building a sandcastle. heh

Guess this is how its done when you let lighthouse people (whatever that entails) deal with a shipwreck.

Lighthouse Archaeology Group are not true archies... apparently they do the bidding of Tallahassee DHR which we all know couldn’t care less about archaeology!
