I heard that ship Venus was sunked near Lighthouse Point, Mi in 1910. Can anyone confirm this story?

there was a vessel named venus --a schooner that sank in 1887 in lake huron about 1 mile off the south end of thunder bay -- she was toting 200 tons of "pig iron" -- not much to speak of there

The Encyclopedia of American Shipwrecks states that the Sch. Venus sank Oct. 1887 , unknown cause , off Black River , Thunder Bay .
