She's beautiful ...but she has horse legs. Greek Mythology?

This beautiful statue made of Pewter(?) depicts a Woman with a Harp(?) and horselegs???

There are two horselegs showing on just under the harp to the right and one just behind the harp......She greek Mythology? Roman?

She's about 7" high and about 8" wide to the tip of her Human foot. Any Ideas on this? Age maker etc.? 20150829_131303.jpg20150829_131309.jpg20150829_131314.jpg20150829_131331.jpg20150829_131352.jpg

Could be Pandora, Amalthea, or some other goat loving greek goddess but it is victorian, and part of a mantle clock.

I was looking through google images and seen some just like her but not Detailed. Her arm doesn't touch her body like the other images. she is very detailed i wonder if she was made based on those other clock toppers on google?

Judging by your photos, your find appears to be a Spelter sculpture, which was more than likely used as a clock finial. Spelter is a zinc alloy, and was used to resemble bronze. Lamps, tables, and figures were made of Spelter and were very popular during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period.

Looking at the underside of the base was clue to the material. If you scratch the base of Spelter, it will look like silver; whereas if you do the same to bronze, it will be bright yellow.

Very neat find :)
